The Community Component is
a wonderful way to involve parents in a school's character education
initiative. The Community Training equips parent volunteers
to work with local organizations to arrange ongoing career
speakers and service projects throughout the year. Speakers share with
students about their careers and how they demonstrate good character,
while service projects give students practical opportunities to apply
the character skills they are learning. The WiseSkillsK-12 curricula includes suggested service project ideas for teachers.
The Community Training Flash Drive is included in theCommunity Implementation Kit and features ready-to-play video presentations to train volunteer Community Coordinators. The Flash Drive includes additional resources to help schools involve their local community.

Practical training to help the School Leadership Team and volunteers
facilitate each of the Action Steps for implementing the Community
