Effective character education programs
involve the entire school community in focusing on positive principles of
character. The WiseSkills program provides practical resources and training that help elementary, middle, and high schools use a common language of character by implementing a variety of simple, ongoing classroom and schoolwide activities.
While teachers and counselors involve students in classroom activities, the Elementary School Implementation Kit, Middle School Implementation Kit, and High School Implementation Kit provide practical resources for effectively using WiseSkills schoolwide. Materials include Implementation Guides, staff training videos, suggested schoolwide activities, ElementaryFamily Lunches, and ready-to-use assessment tools. Permanent Schoolwide Licenses provide permission for schools to duplicate materials in the curricula for teachers. In addition, Family Wisdom contains optional newsletters and activity pages that engage elementary and middle school families in home activities that strengthen good character. All of the WiseSkills materials can be used in conjunction with Character Counts! to teach the Six Pillars of Character.
