The WiseLives Curriculum (Grades 6-8) helps middle school teachers integrate principles of character into all subject areas. WiseLives/Character Counts! can be used to teach the Six Pillars of Character. Across-the-curriculum resources include:
• Curriculum Integration Strategies Suggested interdisciplinary ideas for integrating each monthly Character Theme into every subject area: English/Language Arts, Social Studies, Math/Science, Arts, Health, P. E., and Foreign Language.
• Multicultural Quotations Character
quotes from inspiring role models who students may be studying in
subject areas. Individuals include authors, historical figures,
political leaders, scientists, and more.
• Quotation Activities Reproducible pages with simple writing, research, or art activities around a specific character quote.
• Character Portraits One-page reproducible biographies about the personal character of 42 quotation authors. Biographies include questions for students about the individual's character.
• Author Index Index
of over 150 quotation authors and the specific character qualities
where their quote is featured in the curricula. Students may be
learning about many of the quotation authors in different subject areas.
